Privacy Policy
PocketPal is a personal finance app for tracking accounts, categories, merchants, budgets, recurring transactions, and transaction history.
Data PocketPal Stores
PocketPal stores the information you enter, including account names, balances, categories, merchants, notes, dates, and transaction amounts, in a local database on your device.
iCloud and CloudKit Sync
If you use sync features on supported Apple devices, PocketPal sends your app data to your private iCloud / CloudKit container so the same data can be available on your other devices signed in to the same Apple ID.
Receipt and Statement Scanning
PocketPal offers optional receipt and statement scanning. When you choose a photo from your library or take a new photo, the selected image is used to extract text and suggest transaction details. You control whether to use this feature and whether to keep the resulting transaction data.
Purchases and Subscriptions
PocketPal offers premium subscriptions and lifetime purchases. Subscription status, purchase entitlements, and limited purchase-related metadata are processed by Apple and RevenueCat so purchases can be validated and restored.
Device and Technical Information
PocketPal may use basic device information and platform information to support syncing, purchase availability, troubleshooting, and compatibility checks.
How Data Is Used
PocketPal uses your data to:
- store and display your budgeting information
- sync your data across your Apple devices when you enable or use sync features
- validate purchases and restore premium access
- support optional import and OCR-assisted transaction entry
- maintain app reliability and compatibility
What PocketPal Does Not Do
PocketPal does not use your data for third-party advertising and does not sell personal information.
Accounts
PocketPal does not require you to create a separate PocketPal account. On Apple devices, sync is tied to your iCloud account and in-app purchases are tied to your Apple account.
Your Choices
You can stop using optional features such as camera access, photo-library access, imports, and iCloud sync at any time through system settings or by not using those features.
If you want to delete your PocketPal data, you can remove data from within the app and delete the app from your device. If you use iCloud sync, you may also need to remove synced records from your iCloud account backups or data stores.
Third Parties
PocketPal relies on Apple, iCloud / CloudKit, RevenueCat, and other platform providers to operate certain features. Their handling of your data is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the updated version should be published before or at the time the new version of the app is released.
